what to bring

Valid license or passport
Beach towel *Peace does not supply beach towels.
Yoga mat / strap / block * we have enough to borrow for 12 people, if you have your own and can bring them, please do so (thank you!).
Additional electrolyte support if required
Refillable water bottle/nalgene bottle (NO GLASS)
Journal and pen
Alarm clock (travel size/battery operated)
Flashlight and batteries
Book light or head lamp (for reading)
Sneakers/ walking sandals
Raincoat (just in case)
Insect repellent & after bite
Personal first aid kit (advil, pepto, china gel, band aids, Neosporin, etc)
Sun block
Bathing suit
Cotton pants/jeans
T-shirts and shorts
Yoga clothes; Laundry services are available but limited at an additional cost.
Tea tree oil (available in health food stores-soothing for bites)
Long sleeve cotton shirts for evenings
Sweatshirt
Coat or jacket for colder evenings
Sunglasses
Sun hat
Camera
Miscellaneous money if you are interested in shopping & extra money for emergencies



Note: Bring flashlights! You will need them in the evening to walk to your room or back from the beach. The plumbing at Peace is very sensitive, so please do not throw toilet paper, feminine products, cigarettes or anything into the toilets. Wastebaskets are located beside the toilets for your use.

Hydration (for intensive yoga trainings)
You are responsible for bringing a sufficient amount of electrolyte powder with you to the training to maintain hydration.

Laundry
Laundry services are available at an additional cost with a 24 hour turnaround.

Money
Peace Retreat accepts U.S. Dollars and local Costa Rican Colones. Change will be given in either US or Colones. There is NOT an ATM machine within walking or biking distance. The closest ATM is in the town of Tamarindo or the town of Santa Cruz.

In addition to what to bring during dry season, the only additional item that you need to bring during wet season is a raincoat.

 

Note: October is our wettest month.  It begins to rain lightly in May, and progresses through October.
